The Curse of Oak Island Season 4 Finale Disappoints

Could it be?!  Another disappointing season finale on Oak Island?!

The season four finale of The Curse of Oak Island, which could possibly be the series finale, was a frustrating disappointment. The brothers Lagina netted little more than some scrap metal, a button and more circumstantial evidence.  It’s the circumstantial evidence and the Lagina’s childlike enthusiasm for the search that brings us back each week and each season.  Those elements were present throughout the fourth season, but something more dubious began to take shape this year that undermined the fun, escapist nature of the show.

MPH Podcast EP #4 – Middle School Dances are Awkward

Wyatt makes a brief appearance in this episode as most of the MPH gang sits down to talk a little television.  We discuss a few of the shows that take us away from the insanity of everyday life. Poparella then gives us an update on the dance she recently attended and she attempts to explain the nuances of middle school relationships.  Some notes for the show:

  1. The theme song to Playing House is called “Back Before We Were Brittle“, by Say Hi.
  2. The song “The Games People Play” was written and originally performed by Joe South.  Episode 9 of season 6 of the TV show House featured an acoustic version by James Taylor that doesn’t seem to be available anywhere for download.
  3. Poparella’s YouTube channel, again…
  4. Martin Lawrence is perfectly fine as far as we know.

Edit note: We had an audio issue for the first 20 seconds or so that was quickly resolved but caused a little echo that we could not fix through editing.  We’ll work harder next time and we’re wiser for the experience.

MPH Podcast EP #3 – Poparella From Downtown

Poparella finally arrives to claim her throne as the co-host in this episode of Mousepad Heroes!  We delve in to her nerd origin story as she takes us through how she discovered YouTube, some of her favorite personalities and how she created her own channel.  Next we ponder the nature of the characters in our short film series, the Usurper [spoilers ahead] and discuss what may be next for the Faradays.  From there we spend some time discussing Pop’s favorite game, Roblox and the role playing community she geeks out with in that world.
